Skif Defender II is an updated version of one of the most popular knives in Skif’s 400 series.
Its shape and core functionality remain unchanged: this is a true working EDC tool that performs equally well in daily routines and outdoor activities.
The model’s key innovation lies in its use of 9Cr18MoV stainless steel, enriched with carbon and chromium for stronger blade performance and improved corrosion resistance compared to the previous version.
The blade features a unique profile that blends a Drop Point with the flowing lines of an S-shaped recurve. The flat grind begins about one-third of the way down from the spine, while a swedge and thumb jimping improve control and performance during demanding tasks. An extended cutting edge enhances slicing ability, while a reinforced blade tip boosts stabbing confidence. Depending on the configuration, the blade comes in either a Stonewash or Black Stonewash finish.
The Defender II opens via a flipper tab, which also serves as a finger guard — especially useful under heavy load. Additionally, a thumb hole offers an alternative opening method. A ball bearing pivot system ensures smooth and fluid blade deployment.
Blade lockup is provided by a proven Frame Lock, one of the most durable locking systems available for folding knives. This generation introduces extended jimping — now featured not only on the spine and handle but also on the flipper tab and lockbar — for enhanced grip and handling precision.
The handle features textured G10 scales, offering a secure grip even in wet environments or while wearing gloves. A deep-carry pocket clip allows for discreet everyday carry and can be removed if desired. A lanyard hole is also provided for alternative attachment options.
Skif Defender II is a modern reinterpretation of a trusted model that remains just as relevant and reliable as ever.
